A PHOTO MISSION TO ICELAND

In October, we tagged along with photographers Emil Sollie and Hallvard Kolltveit to Iceland. The two Norwegians travel the world as lifestyle and commercial photographers. For their trip to Iceland, they were on a mission with friends to shoot for travel gear company Db. We equipped the crew with Scandinavian Edition jackets to protect them from Iceland's harsh climate.

THE LONG WAY TO WORK

It's early. Very early, in Oslo. Jonas Strømberg is used to being awake at this hour. He usually gets up before sunrise to get an hour on the bicycle. In any weather. We joined him on a 10-minute detour to work.

THE TRAVELLING SURFER

Join Norway's best surfer, Luca Guichard, on his surfing journey to the Lofoten Islands. Luca has travelled the world with his surfboard and has some really great insights about life on the road.

THE MICHELIN STAR CHEF

We spent a day with Michelin star chef Nicolai Ellitsgaard at his restaurant Under, Lindesnes. Nicolai loves making food with locally sourced ingredients. In this video, he makes raw handpicked scallop with a juice of water kefir and seaweed oil. Served with a folded “pancake” of scallop roe filled with a XO sauce made of leftover Fenalår scraps and smoked oysters, as the main ingrediens.

Nicolai does not believe in in perfection—he believes that if you think that something is perfect... you have given up. And that philosophy might be the reason behind his success as a chef—making food at the highest level and a Michelin star on his wall.

THE CREATIVE

Meet Guro—a young creative living in Oslo, Norway. Guro is passionate about photography and use her camera as a tool to fuel her creativity. She loves waking up early to roam around town, looking for inspiration. Her creative side is important, it gives her energy... especially in todays society – it makes her slow down and staying present in the now. Check out @Guroo to see more of her creative work.
